You may have been wondering this exact question but didn’t feel comfortable asking. Well, don’t worry! As Internal Medicine specialists, this question comes up quite often.
According to the American College of Physicians, “Internal medicine physicians are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness.”
This basically means that we treat a wide range of health issues, from the typical primary care concerns to very complex medical conditions. We are different from Family Practice physicians in that our training is focused entirely on the treatment of adults. Internal Medicine physicians also have training across many medical specialties and extensive experience with very ill hospitalized patients.
Beyond providing diagnosis and treatment, we strive to promote overall wellness in the lives of patients. With Internal Medicine, our true goal is to become your partner in health. We aim to locate the root of a matter before a problem even arises. This is accomplished through ongoing communication and education.
Simply put: we’re with you for life. Internal medicine care spans beyond our office doors. That’s why you’ll find our physician, Dr. Ryan Frazine, out in the community at local hospitals. In addition to serving at Advanced Internal Medicine, Dr. Frazine also provides care to hospitalized patients at both Baptist Health Paducah and Lourdes Hospital. Furthermore, if there comes a time when you need to see other medical specialists, we’ll coordinate care to make the process as seamless as possible.
